Me and my classmate Pedro Navarro Faraone made a Piktochart in which we explained the roles of the charactrers Catherine and Eddie in the play "A View from the Bridge". We also included and explained three quotes from the play per character through which we also described them and explained their actions and changes through the play.
Boys, great work!
ResponderEliminarIn the case of Catherine, your selection of quotes is very adequate and the explanations, detailed. I would say she isn't just obedient, but mainly desperate to please Eddie. You have also been able to trace the changes in her feelings for Eddie and her own freedom successfully.
Regards Eddie, I think you could have explored the meaning of some quotes a bit further. In the case of the second, you could have mentioned how fixed the role of men was, what was expected of a 'real' man. In the case of the first quote, there are much better passages that show Eddie's overprotective attitude. As to the last quote, I agree with the fact that it is a crucial moment, but it doesn't really reveal Eddie's character. Perhaps a passage from his dialogue with Alfieri, or with Beatrice afterwards, would have allowed you to talk about his personality better. Be careful with grammar here too.
All in all you did a very good job.
